About Robert Van Dell

Robert’s creative talents began at an early age as an award winning graphic artist. His fascination with fine woodworking was inspired by his master craftsmen uncle in 1977, and developed into a lifelong passion and career. Upon relocating to Central Oregon in 1994, he discovered the exceptional beauty and unique challenges of working with the high desert juniper wood. His creations have also encompassed all classic hardwoods, exotics, blue and buggy lodge pole, and knotty pine, just to name a few.

In Spring 2008, a juniper bar that Robert made was featured in the Central Oregon New Home Living magazine. The article was about "Man Caves". Spaces in the home, made by men, that are molded to be their image of a perfect room. The bar that Robert made for Steve Priborsky features the organic juniper wood shapes inlaid with horseshoes.
